This aquamarine wirework necklace is a great way to practice your wirework and wrapped loops. And at the end, you have a pretty piece to wear!

How To Make This Aquamarine Wirework Necklace

Materials

Prima Bead silver-plated floral toggle clasp, 18mm
4 silver rings, 12mm diameter
4 aquamarine connectors, 12mm
30 aquamarine chips, 3mm
6 fluorite nuggets, 12mm
3 crystal rondelles, aqua, 6mm
24 silver and crystal rondelles, 3mm
Wire, silver-plate, 24 gauge

Tools

Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Wire cutters

Steps

1. This necklace is made using wrapped loop components. To make a wrapped loop cut a 4″ length of wire. Grasp the wire with round-nose pliers 1″ from the end. Bend the tail of the wire over the pliers 90 degrees. Move the pliers to grip the wire just above the 90-degree turn. Grab the tail of the wire with your fingers and wrap it around the pliers to make a partial loop.

2. Attach the partial loop to the clasp for the first component or to the last component you attached as you work on the necklace. Reposition the pliers in the partial loop and finish pulling the wire around the pliers to complete the loop. Wrap the tail around the straight wire twice. Use the wire cutters to trim the tail. This will leave you with about three inches of wire attached by a wrapped loop to the necklace.

3. Slide the desired beads onto the wire and finish with another wrapped loop. If the next component on the necklace is a connector or a ring, slide that onto the partial loop before you close it.

Continue adding wrapped loop components following the necklace pattern, hooking the first loop onto the last component as you go. Finish by connecting the last component to the other half of the clasp.
