Here’s a fun and easy little project to make: A DIY Jewelry Box with a printable label. We made the “Blingy Things” label for you to download. And we’ll show you how to use it, along with a pretty piece of scrapbook paper, to transform a wooden craft box into a cute DIY Jewelry Box!
We made a video to show you how to decoupage a wood box with scrapbook paper and the downloadable label. Watch how we do it, then use the steps to make your own.

How To Make A DIY Jewelry Box
Materials
Hinged wooden box
Scrapbook paper page, DCWV Fresh Floral Stack
White paper
Mod Podge Gloss
Yellow craft paint
“Blingy Things” label, printed on Laser printer
Tools
Brayer roller
Craft paintbrush
Scissors
Ruler

Steps
To download the label, right-click on the picture.
1. Download, Print, And Cut Out Label
Download the label by right-clicking on the picture. Print the label on a Laser printer. We used 60lb cover stock. Cut out the label.
2. Paint Wood Box
Paint the wood box with the craft paint inside and out. Prop the hinged lid open so the paint doesn’t seal the box closed. Let the box dry completely. Apply a second coat of paint if needed.
3. Cut Out Scrapbook Paper
Make a little frame out of white paper the same size as the top of your box. Use this to find a part of the scrapbook paper that would look nice on the box.
Mark the section you like using a ruler and pencil, then cut it out.
4. Decoupage Scrapbook Paper
Paint a layer of Mod Podge onto the box lid.
Then paint a layer of Mod Podge on the back of the cut out scrapbook paper.
Center the scrapbook paper square onto the lid with your fingers.
Use the brayer roller to press the paper flat. This should smooth any wrinkles. Clean off any Mod Podge that squeezed out from under the paper. Let dry.
5. Decoupage Label Onto Box
Paint a layer of Mod Podge onto the scrapbook paper piece on the lid.
Then paint Mod Podge onto the back of the “Blingy Things” label.
Center the label on the lid.
Use the brayer roller to press the label flat. Clean off any Mod Podge that squeezed out from under the label. Let dry completely.
6. Mod Podge Entire Box
Paint a coat of Mod Podge over the whole jewelry box to seal the box.
We love how cute this Blingy Things Jewelry Box turned out. So cute and so easy! Have you ever made a jewelry box? We’d love to hear about it!
