Five Fun Fall Decorating Ideas

We’re ready to fully embrace fall. (Okay, it’s a little late, but here in northern California our warmest weather is in October!) To get into that fall feeling, we thought we’d share this Fall Decorating Ideas photo gallery we did for Family Circle. These little decorating swaps will have your home autumn ready in no time!

Fall Foliage

We swap our wardrobes in fall, so why not do the same for the dining table!? These felt leaf place mats are the perfect autumn outfit for a rustic table. We combined the bold red place mats with black and white dishes, so the rustic look would have a modern feel. How cute is that squirrel nutcracker?!

Dish It Out

We love to change out the little accents in the bathroom. Look for accents from nature like this cast iron twig soap dish and verbena leaf soap. And terra cotta towels add a little fall color.

Easy As Pie

Adding a delicious fall palette to the kitchen is as easy as pie! Just swap out dish towels and mixing bowls for ones in colors like persimmon, green apple, and marigold. We think this red pie pan adds a little homey vintage feeling. And if you’ve got ’em, set out wooden spoons and cutting boards! These handcrafted pieces are decorator items that you may already have!

Pillow Talk

Changing home accents like pillows is an easy way to get into fall. Put away summer’s casual cottons and dress up the place with throw pillows embellished with rich trims. We love silky sari fabrics. They come in spicy colors like ginger, cinnamon, and clove. Very fall!

Let There Be Light

One of the best things about fall is candles! We love the look of a natural candlescape made from pinecones, acorns, and seedpods. Go for a family walk and let everyone contribute their finds! Arrange these natural materials in mismatched mason jars, then light them up with flameless candles in scents like mulled cider, spiced orange, and chai latte. Autumn aromatherapy!
