For both:
magenta ribbon (1/8” wide)
1 25-yard spool of 5 3/4” wide tulle, magenta
1 25-yard spool of 5 3/4” wide tulle, pink
pinking shears
scissors
Fabri-tac
Directions for Black Tote:
1. Cut a 24” length of skinny ribbon. Cut 30 lengths of 5 3/4”-wide pink tulle each 16” long. Fold each piece of tulle in half and slip-knot or cow-hitch over the skinny ribbon. Squish tulle lengths together to width of tote. Tie skinny ribbon ends in knot and trim.
2. Cut a “skirt” of zebra with pinking shears 2” wider than tote. Cut wide magenta ribbon 2” wider than tote. Glue top edge of zebra to magenta ribbon. Glue tulle covered ribbon to zebra and magenta ribbon. Fold 2” edges in and glue. Flip over and glue onto tote 3” from top. (Trim zebra skirt with pinking shears so a little tulle sticks out.)
3. Cover wide magenta ribbon with 7/8” wide ribbon (because zebra is bold and shows through wired satin ribbon). Make a bow and glue it on.
4. Take flower apart and remove stem. Glue flower layers together. Top with biggest gem. Glue onto center of bow. Embellish top of tote with large crystal gems.
For Pink Tote:
Alternate lengths of magenta tulle with pink tulle. Embellish tulle with small crystal gems.
