Here’s a fun Halloween craft for kids. Collect pinecones from the yard and dress them up as witches! Make the hat and eyes from craft foam or felt.
Set one by the front door to greet guests. Line up a row of them on your mantle. Or use them as placecard holders for your Halloween party!
I have purchased all the supplies I need for this as a project at my 8 year old daughters class. I’m her homeroom mom. And she is so proud. I was going to have everything cut out and in an individual baggie so we could put them together and they could be taken home for their halloween party. But I can’t even put one together. Nothing will stick. What do you use for glue ‘ I need help please….Please. I don’t have .such time. Thank you.

Oh…it was the witch pine cone
Ooh Bonnie! Hope you have time to get some FabriTac if you are using felt! It’s made by Beacon Adhesives and they carry it at Michaels and JoAnn! Another option is Glue Dots (the brand name) if you are using craft foam. Glue Dots are VERY sticky! (Hot glue works too but we use the low temp kind. We don’t want any burned fingers!) We’ve tried craft foam glue and it’s the stickiest glue ever and really works, but it is so sticky it gets on everything. Let us know how it goes!

The measurements for the cut-out pieces would greatly help
Hi Peggy! The measurements will depend on the size of your pine cone. Cut the two circles for the brim of the hat to fit your pine cone. Our brim was about 3″ diameter and the hole was probably 1″. We would guess the pointy hat part was 3″ on the straight side. Hope that helps!! J&K
Will liquid stitch work
Hi Valerie, We haven’t tried liquid stitch. If it works well with felt, you can try it. We also made this with craft foam and used craft foam glue.
Hope that helps!
